It's a fun idea and I'm glad she has it, but there are also some issues to address... May 17, 2012
By Andrew Ellington After a recent trip to wonderful SeaWorld (like, seriously, my favorite theme park ever), my daughter came home with one of these Barbies. I can't say that I was unhappy about that. It was stuffed with fun stuff, and while it was a tad pricey for my taste, it was worth it to see her so happy. After we got this home I did notice a few things that made me less than impressed with the whole package. While the base (pool) included is supposed to make the dolphin and the orca do flips, I found that the fit is tight and the animals have a hard time actually staying on the stand. For that matter, the plastic crank falls apart rather easily, so after one or two flips the back of the crank falls off and you have to reconnect it. As far as the Barbie herself, she's good quality and the whole idea of being a trainer was very cool (like, the best job ever). The Barbie does come with three animals (a whale, a dolphin and a seal) as well as the base and a few very small fish and a pole with a ball for the animals to jump at. Like I said, it's a lot of stuff. The fish are VERY small, which is kind of a downside considering that they can easily get lost on bare carpet and are small enough for little kids and or animals to eat. Overall, this is a decent and worthy souvenir and any young girl who loves aquatic life and Barbie in general will love this, but there are detractors that one cannot ignore.
